Kaikoura is situated mid way between Christchurch and Picton and is part of the Alpine Pacific touring route. This route connects the centres of Christchurch, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura. 

Kaikoura offers visitors a combination of stunning scenery and unique sea and land experiences.  The ocean waters around Kaikoura provide for marine activities focusing on dolphins, whales, seabirds and seals, while the surrounding Kaikoura mountains are a playground for those with a love for the outdoors.
